Please note that our museum’s current location will be CLOSED starting Sunday, November 10 as we transition to our forever home!

We will re-open at our NEW LOCATION on Friday, December 6!

New location (opening Dec 6): 440 South Salisbury Ave, Spencer, NC 28159 

We’ll be open Dec 6-8 with special hours and then resume our normal business hours at our new home the following week.

When is the last day to visit the museum’s current location? 

Saturday, November 9.

 

How far away is the new location? 

It is within easy walking distance of our current location!

 

Why are you moving? 

We are moving into an incredible new space that offers far more room for display, collection storage, capacity, and possibilities. It is a HUGE and exciting opportunity for us that has been in the works for several years. We can’t wait to show you! 

 

Can I visit the museum or donate an item to the museum between Nov 10 and Dec 6? 

No: there will not be a physical location for our museum between Nov 10 and Dec 6. However, if you need to reach us, you can still contact us via social media or email info@ncmdtm.org and we will do our best to support you as always. 

 

Will your address change on Google and on social media?

Yes: our address has already changed on Google and most social media sites, but we will continue to ensure our location and hours are correct across all platforms once we re-open in December.

 

Will your hours change?

Starting Thursday, December 12, you can expect the same hours at our new home: Thursday through Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm. 

Note that we have modified hours on the weekend of Dec 6 for Spencer’s annual Winterfest celebration. 

 

Will your phone number or email change?

They will stay the same! You will still be able to reach us at (704) 762-9359 or email us at info@ncmdtm.org, including during our move.

 

Will your admission cost change?

Admission to our new location will be $10 per adult, $8 per senior adult, and $5 for kids. 

All our discount programs will remain active, including Blue Star Museums and Museums for All.

 

Will your membership cost change?

No: the membership cost will remain the same, which means it’s a better value than ever and a great way to support the museum!

You can become a member for just $35 or enjoy a family membership for $70 and receive year-round free admission to our new museum! Click here for all the details. 

 

What about your Super Saturday sales? 

Our Super Saturday sales will continue as usual at the First Community Center of Spencer on the second Saturday of the month, including on Saturday, November 9 and on Saturday, December 14. 

 

How can I help? 

We are so grateful for the help we’ve already received from volunteers, local businesses, and so many others in our community! The best way to help is to make a donation to our “Let’s Play!” Capital Campaign.

Those donations directly support the museum’s new location as we make this transition, and every contribution makes a huge difference.
