
Make your own Primitive Pie Safe & Chair at our workshop on April 18!
Come join Dia Crissey-Baum (Tailgate Minis) and Kari Crawford (MiniEtchers) for a hands-on miniature workshop at the museum.
In this guided miniature class, you will create a charming vignette featuring a primitive pie safe and chair as an homage to early American craftsmanship and tradition.

Saturday, April 18 from 9 am to 5 pm
At the NC Museum of Dolls, Toys & Miniatures at 440 South Salisbury Avenue, Spencer, NC 28159
Registration & Cost:
Registration is required.
Workshop is limited to 20 participants.
Cost is $60 to $75 depending on which scale you choose.

- You may create your miniature in any of 3 scales (1 inch, 1/2, or 1/4). Your choice of scale!
- Lunch is included.
- Event will include door prizes and a museum tour.Â
- Enjoy “mini-mart” sales tables for shopping. You can register to have your own miniature sales table as a vendor, too!
Fun Swaps:
You are welcome to participate in miniature swaps with the other guests to help get inspired and personalize your miniature scene!
If you’d like to participate, be sure to bring 20 identical items in the same scale you sign up for.
Here are some ideas:Â baskets of apples or eggs, pies, cakes, loaves of bread, and cheese wrapped in cloth; stoneware crocks and jugs; tin or pewter plates, bowls, and mugs; ceramic pie plates; rolling pins and dough bowls; wooden trenchers or bread boards; candles and lamps; books and picture frames; linens, rugs, and chair cushions; dried herbs or corn bundles; flour sacks or grain bags; flowers in simple vases; and other early American pantry and kitchen details.
