What is GivingTuesday?

GivingTuesday is an annual holiday that invites all of us to volunteer, donate, share, and get involved in any way we can to support our favorite charities.

It was created to help offset all of the personal spending and gift-buying we tend to do around Black Friday and the holidays. That’s why it always takes place on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving and Black Friday.

It’s a way to set aside one day during the holiday season where you pledge to support a charity cause.

This year, GivingTuesday is on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.

Does it matter if I donate on GivingTuesday?

GivingTuesday is the same as any other day of the year when it comes to donating to a charity like ours. But it can be special to know that you are part of a global movement of giving & doing good!

It isn’t necessary to donate ON GivingTuesday, but it’s fun!

Of course, we are grateful for your support on ANY day of the year!!

Here are 5 ways you can support our museum on GivingTuesday:

1. Start a Facebook Fundraiser for the museum! It’s fast, easy, and cost-free, and it allows all your friends and followers on Facebook to join you in making a donation to support our museum.
2. Share a post about our mission, like this one on Facebook! Tell others why you choose to support our museum so they can do the same.
3. Buy a souvenir t-shirt! We have special Bear-y Merry Christmas t-shirts for sale. All proceeds go right to the museum!
4. Become a member! Unlock free admission year-round and other benefits, and pledge to support the museum year after year.
5. Donate! Your donation of any amount makes a huge impact and is tax deductible.
